What is an IP address?

A number devices use to find each other on the internet. The IP above is your public IP: the address websites see when you visit them. Your ISP assigns it.
IPv4 vs IPv6

IPv4 uses 32-bit addresses, about 4.3 billion of them, and they have nearly run out. IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses, so the supply is practically unlimited. Many connections now have both (dual-stack).

Public vs private IP

Private IPs only work inside a local network (home or office router) and can't be reached from the internet. Ranges: 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, and 192.168.0.0/16.
Why does my IP keep changing?

Most ISPs, mobile carriers especially, hand out dynamic IPs that can change when your modem restarts or the connection drops. Many networks also use CGNAT, where one public IP is shared by many customers. If you need a fixed address, ask your ISP for a static IP.
How accurate is the location?

Country and ISP are usually right. City can be off, since it comes from IP registration data, not GPS. VPNs and proxies show their server's location.
